Book Review: Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop TalkingQuiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I think I finished this book relatively faster than my usual rate, at first I really enjoyed it and read it word for word, I felt like my older sister talking to me and sharing amazing insight about the nature of introverts and their origins. It fascinated me -being an introvert myself- .. yet by the time I reached mid of this book I began skipping chapters and jumping from page to page. Maybe that's because the idea is grasped easily and it didn't need the repeated long narrated stories .. or maybe because this book was published some years ago and its ideas have already spread out to the world so reading about it now became "common sense" about introverts.
Anyhow, I did enjoy understanding where the fame/need for extroverts came from with the old history dating back to the early 1900s. I also enjoyed the validation that all the discomfort I felt around extroverts is perfectly normal, yet there is always room for stretching it.

Book review | When - The scientific secrets of perfect timing

When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect TimingWhen: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing by Daniel H. Pink
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can easily say this is my 2nd fav book after Malcolm Gladwell's "The tipping point" .. the book's flow is amazing and rich with facts and tips that I can easily relate too.
It helps to understand the dynamics of "when" to make a decision or do something, unlike most of the books that focuses on "How To"
It helps to know different kind of people and the way they think .. the early birds and the late-night owls .. the different patterns in a person's day and how it affects our productivity, modes and interactions.
It shows the power of beginnings, the criticality of midpoints and the charm of happy endings.

I am glad to end 2019 by reading this book, I would say it is a happy ending for this year .. or maybe I am that much amazed because I finished it by end of the year :)? ..after all timing is everything and everything is timing (Read the book you will know what I mean :D )

who knows, I just love it .. I definitely recommend reading it.
